Estates and complexes
The Zevenwacht side of Kuils River is estate and complex living: new-build sectionals with developer motors that fail at year four, beams never aligned at handover, remotes never properly paired, and a dozen garages on a shared wall interfering with each other's receivers. A motor sized for the door fixes the first, one visit fixes the second, and a receiver on a different frequency fixes the third.
The old town
Old Kuils River along Van Riebeeck Road is older houses with steel tip-ups and the ordinary spring and bearing work, and a motor repair there is usually a gear on a unit worth keeping.
Getting here
Kuils River is off the N1 or the R300 and a reasonable drive. Brackenfell, Kraaifontein and Somerset West share the routes, and an emergency is attended at the honest window.
