The slope above the harbour
Gordon's Bay climbs the Hottentots Holland behind its harbour, and its garages are cut into the slope with the odd openings of any mountainside village — low headroom on one side, driveways dropping to the road — and a roll-up or a low-headroom sectional is the door that fits. The doors face the harbour and get the spray in a south-easter: boards corrode, cables rust, bottom panels go from the edge, and stainless hardware with a sealed panel edge is the specification.
Holiday homes
A large share of Gordon's Bay is holiday property, and a door that has stood closed through a wet winter will not open in December. A service in spring — springs checked, rollers freed, batteries replaced, motor board inspected — is cheaper than the December emergency, and it is a long drive to make twice.

Gordon's Bay is the far end of the Helderberg run and a real drive; the window is quoted honestly and calls are paired with Strand and Somerset West.
