High-cycle basement doors
The Foreshore is towers, and each tower has a basement entrance whose door opens for every car in the building — hundreds of cycles a day on a commercial roller shutter or sectional. Those motors wear on a schedule, and a motor repair here is a commercial parts list on a planned interval, ideally before the failure rather than after it. When it does fail, the managing agent's call is treated as an emergency at any hour, because a tower that cannot get its cars out is a building-wide problem.
Access systems
Foreshore basements run on tag, remote or plate-recognition access, and the receiver and the register behind it are part of the door. A tag register nobody has maintained through tenant turnover is a security problem, and a receiver that has stopped listening is a queue on the ramp at eight in the morning.
Getting here
The Foreshore is minutes from everywhere, with loading and building security the delay. The city centre, Green Point and Woodstock share the routes.
