Upper and lower
Kenilworth splits at the railway. The racecourse side has larger stands and older houses with steel sectionals and the occasional timber tip-up, doors that have done twenty years and need a spring and rollers. The Main Road side and the streets toward Access Park are complexes and townhouses with newer sectionals and the motors that came with them, and the year-four motor failure on a unit chosen for price is the commonest call there.
Complexes, and the shared wall
The Kenilworth complexes put a dozen garages on the same receiver frequency, and a remote that opens the neighbour's door is not a joke here. A receiver on a different frequency ends it. The complexes also have a body corporate between you and the repair, and a shared driveway door is booked through the managing agent.
Getting here
Kenilworth is off the M3 via Rosmead Avenue and quick to reach. Claremont, Wynberg and Lansdowne share the routes, and an emergency is at the fast end at any hour.
