Claremont's driveways
Claremont is dense for the Southern Suburbs. The streets around Harfield Village and behind Main Road have short driveways that face the street, and a timber tip-up that swings out into one with a car on it is a door that gets left open. That is the commonest reason a Claremont tip-up is replaced with a sectional that lifts straight up — not because the tip-up failed, but because the driveway did.

Getting here
Claremont is on the M3 and one of the quickest addresses in the city. Newlands, Kenilworth and Rondebosch are worked from the same routes, and an emergency here is reached at the fast end of the range at any hour.
