Townhouses, and the developer motor
Devil's Peak Estate is townhouse complexes on the slope above De Waal Drive, built in the last twenty years with sectional doors and the developer's motor — chosen for price, failing at year four, and the commonest call in the suburb. A motor sized for the door is the honest fix. Beams never aligned and force limits at default are the handover faults that go with it, and a dozen garages on a shared wall interfering with each other's receivers is the other complex call.
The slope and the wind
The estate is steep and the wind comes straight off the peak, and a sectional facing it has its hinges and brackets checked more often. A cable and track visit here is often a bracket the wind worked loose. Complex gates mean the resident clears the technician in.
Getting here
Devil's Peak Estate is minutes from the city off De Waal Drive. Vredehoek, Woodstock and Observatory share the routes, and an emergency at night needs the complex gate sorted in advance.
