Old houses and student doors
Mowbray's station-side streets have houses old enough to have timber tip-ups, and enough of them are student lets that the doors open thirty times a day. That combination — an old door on a heavy cycle count — wears springs and bearings on a short interval, and a landlord who services the door every couple of years spends far less than one who waits for the emergency. A receiver wipe at every tenant change is the cheapest security in the suburb.
Small blocks on Main Road
Along Main Road the small apartment blocks have a shared garage door on the managing agent's list, and a door stuck shut with a block's cars behind it is treated as an emergency at any hour. Where the block's motor is a commercial unit on a domestic cycle rating, a motor sized for the use ends the repeat callouts.
