How we work, and what we will not do
Mobile only, quoted first
There is no shop and no showroom. Every technician works from a van that carries the springs, gears, chains, cables, rollers, receivers and remotes that cover the large majority of what goes wrong with a garage door in Cape Town — which is why most calls are finished in one visit. A garage door motor repair or a spring replacement is diagnosed at the door, priced at the door, and only then started.
That order is the point. A garage door has a short list of parts that fail and a long list of parts that get replaced anyway by anyone charging per part. Knowing what is wrong and what it costs before you agree to anything is the only real protection against the second list, so it is how every job here begins.
What we will tell you honestly
Whether the door is worth repairing. Most are. A door that opens and closes with a sound frame and intact panels should be kept, and a lot of what gets sold as replacement is a service that was skipped. Where a door genuinely is finished — rusted through on the coast, a wooden tip-up that has rotted, a panel door with more replaced panels than original — garage door installation is the honest answer and we will say so. We do not sell doors to people who do not need them.
Whether it is the spring or the motor. A heavy door is almost always the spring, and forcing a motor to lift an unbalanced door is what kills motors. If a technician wants to replace your motor before checking the spring balance, ask why.
How long you are likely to wait. The Southern and Northern Suburbs and the City Bowl are usually at the fast end of our range. The far West Coast, Helderberg and the Winelands take longer, and the arrival window reflects the drive rather than a number that sounds good on the phone.
What we do not do
We repair, automate and install residential garage doors. We do not do work that is not that, and the list of what we will not sell you is as important as the list of what we will. Every page on this site describes a job that a technician will actually do at your door; nothing is here because a keyword tool suggested it.
